Work At Home Make Money With Online Surveys

With the introduction of the worldwide web, the proliferation of "work-at-home" and get-rich-quick" schemes have become widespread, but if you receive an e-mail in your inbox declaring, "Make Money With Online Surveys", you are probably not being scammed. If you are unemployed, a stay-at-home mom or just have some extra time on your hands, you may indeed be able to put some extra money in your pocket, by taking online surveys! But if you do decide that taking online surveys for money may just be your cup of tea, caution is advised before you navigate the internet in an attempt to find every site advertising compensation for survey taking.

The first thing you need to know about taking surveys online is that you will not make a lot of money. Most surveys pay $1.00 to $3.00 for each completed survey. Sometimes the initial questions contained in a survey will qualify the potential survey taker according to specific characteristics such as health or family status or the usage of specific products. If you do not qualify you will not be paid. Only completed surveys are eligible for compensation. Many survey sites do not even provide monetary compensation, but offer points or gift certificates redeemable at popular online or retail venues. Others offer only entries into their online sweepstakes, which are reserved for their survey takers. In my experience, most surveys are straightforward and simple to complete, so whether you are compensated with money or other perks, online survey taking can be worthwhile, and like other budget-stretching pastimes, such as using coupons. Its' rewards typically come to you tax-free! Taking online surveys can also be fun and educational!

So, how do you find reputable, paid online survey sites? Initially, you may be recruited through a "snail mail" survey company from which you have been receiving paper surveys, particularly when the surveys target consumer goods. Typically, these companies mail out surveys every few months and you may, in fact, look forward to their mailings, since they are usually stuffed with coupons and special offers! You can usually rest assured that these companies are long-time in the survey field and will refer you to legitimate survey sources.

If you search out survey sources online, there are two clues that they may not be reputable or legitimate.

1.) Redirected to a page asking for personal information, such as a cell phone number and the page does not have the company heading from the original site that you entered.

2.) Asked for credit card or other charge information, these are sure signs that the site may use your information for undesirable purposes. All survey sites ask for some personal information, such as name, age, country of residence, race, employment status and income for classification purposes.

Additionally, they may ask you to complete optional "profile surveys" to determine your health, habits and household or family information. Terms for the site's usage of this information should be included and a check box for you to agree to them.

You may wish to read the terms, but most generally, they restrict the disclosure of your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes, and confine their own usage to an aggregate form for survey purposes only. You should never be charged to take surveys, although some sites will request that you purchase a product for evaluation, for which you may later receive compensation. I am unfamiliar with these sites, but my recommendation is "Buyer Beware". Paid survey sites which initially disclose their terms of compensation and caution the consumer on their home page that they won't make a lot of money, are good ones to add to your "Favorites" list.

Can you make money with online surveys? The answer is "yes", but don't expect to get rich. If you follow the old adage of "Buyer Beware" and take online surveys for fun, as well as profit, you will be successful with online survey taking for pay!

You can make money at from filling out online surveys, but you have to make sure you find a credible company so that you don't waste your own time and money. Learn more on the topic of Paid Online Surveys [http://www.makemoneyonlinesurvey.net/paid-online-surveys.html] by educating yourself.
